Mines Discover & Defuse by Afghan Security Forces

Taliban militants by plantings bombs and mines target innocent civilians in the areas; where they have presence and activities.

 BNA – Afghan security forces succeeded to discover and defuse 16 rounds of different types of mines from southern Zabul, Kandahar, Uruzgan and Helmand provinces.

The mines have been planted by enemies of the country in crowded areas of the mentioned provinces to target innocent civilians and Afghan security troops.
A senior security official in south of the country told BNA reporter, the mines timely have been discovered and naturalized by Afghan security forces, but no one was arrested accused of the mine plantings so far.

As one of the world’s most mined countries, Afghanistan is bearing the brunt of anti-personnel landmines. According to the International Committee of Red Cross, as many as 750,000 people are threatened by the presence of mines and unexploded remnants of war in the war-ravaged country.
